Program summary

This is a 3-week course, focused on all disciplines in the creative industry. All the lectures are online.

The first two weeks are mostly lectures, where you can get all the important information that you need! We have mixed lectures with practice and fun workshops where you can get all the guidance from our mentors. After getting to know all the disciplines, the third week is solely to put a start to your portfolio. You get to choose and work on a personal project with the intensive feedback from our mentors. In the end of the third week, we have graduation, where you can get your certificate for completing the course.

Roles in a game studio
We start with what is a game studio, how the roles work and how to face challenges in the workplace.
Game Design Intro
This lecture is dedicated to narrative, game mechanics, level design and game loops.
2D Concept Art: Perspective and Environment
We cover the topics of perspective and environment. We show the industry standard for environment illustrations, requirements and details. We end the lesson with a tutorial in Adobe Photoshop and a free software - Krita.
2D Concept Art: Character Concept art and Anatomy
We start with the fundamentals of character concept art and anatomy - tips for drawing correct anatomy. What is a character sheet, what it includes and how to create one that stands out?
Workshop
We have a workshop where the students can create a story or a concept for a character or an environment under the supervision of our mentors, who will be creating in real time.

Animation
We start with animation history and importance. After that we have a tutorial on how to animate using Krita as a free software. Bonus: The students will see how to animate on other programs as well like: Adobe Animate and Adobe After effects.
3D Intro
We talk about origin & history of 3D art and we show the students all of the steps into creating a 3d model. We finish the lecture with a Blender tutorial.
Advanced Blender tutorial
We will do an object together, so that we can show the students get comfortable using all the controls in Blender during work. Tips on using Blender.
Bonus: Manga
This will be a bonus class with Kostadin Tsiparov regarding manga - origin, interesting facts, how to create your own manga story.
Workshop
This will be our second workshop, where we give the students a lecture about portfolios, what they need to include and all the tips we can give them. After the lecture we will have a break and the students will start brainstorming their personal projects for their graduation. We will help them decide, research and plan ahead.

Graduation

The 3rd week will be dedicated to you getting the chance to create your first art project in the field you enjoy the most! On the last day you will receive a certificate for participating in the course and celebrating the start of your portfolio!
