Game Design
Game design is making the rules for the game. It’s deciding: what the game is about (a story, a world, or just fun challenges)., what the player can do (jump, fly, solve puzzles, fight, build), what makes it fun (winning, collecting things, beating a boss, or just being creative).
So, the designer’s job is to make sure the game is exciting, makes sense, and feels good to play. It’s understanding and making the rules of the world related and believable. It’s communicating with all the artists and the developers. It’s not just a writer’s job - it’s a job that requires knowledge, organization, management and a clear goal set in scope.
